Media Imperialism
Basically, media imperialism is something the media makes you believe in something that isn’t actually there. For example, Al-Qaeda, Al-Qaeda doesn’t actually exist, but the government of the US made it seem it was a group of terrorist. And make everyone think that this formed group by Osama, is their arc enemy. They also took the tragedy in September 11th as an excuse to control other places such as Afghanistan & Iraq to get the oil supply there. They made their citizens think that they are going there for what they had did to them, but actually they had other things in mind. The part where Osama made the US government think they were in the mountains, which made them think his fortress, his hideout was there. The US government was convinced, even the British were convinced and came to help, after a long search which took them 5weeks, nothing was found. The British Government, by using mass media, gained support of the public, through statements about threats of terrorism. This is how strong media imperialism can be.
